Summer is almost here, and you need a refreshing cold drink to cool off. There are many alternatives for cold drinks, but you want something unique, maybe something slushy, to drink on a hot day. Before you have the slushy, there are a few things you need to know first.

What is a slushy?

A slush or slushie is a frozen drink from shaved ice and various flavors. The ice is shaved into small pieces to dissolve in the drink quickly.

Slush can be made with various flavored drinks, such as soda or fruit juice. Some people like to mix it with alcohol or vodka to make cocktails.

A smoothie is an ice-based drink made entirely from fruit juice. The most popular frozen drinks are primary flavors like strawberry, lime, grape, and cherry. But you can enjoy almost any juice flavor you can get your hands on.

When the slush mix is frozen, it forms ice crystals that give the drink its unique texture.

Can slushy make you sick?

Will the different colored slushy affect its freezing point?

Slush (or slushy) is a mixture of crushed ice and some sugary liquid water.

Even in a warm room, it stays slushy because the ice melts slowly. The main reason is that it takes a certain amount of heat to melt the ice, which slowly flows into the slush. Mud helps slow the flow of heat by preventing water from circulating around it. Less significantly, as the ice melts, it dilutes the sugar in the liquid. The thinner the sugar, the hotter the ice melts. This prevents the ice from melting faster.

Typically, there are far fewer coloring molecules than there are sugar molecules. So they have minimal effect on the rate at which snow and ice melt. If a color is sweeter, it has some effect because sweeter drinks melt at a lower temperature.

Why does slushy make me cough?

Cold drinks cause the body to contract, which often leads to coughing. The contraction of the throat muscles is the body's attempt to warm the cold liquid as much as possible before swallowing.

But sometimes, the response is so strong that it triggers a cough or gag reflex. Narrowing of the esophagus is also caused by cold liquids and can cause hiccups, especially when you're not expecting them. Drinking a glass of cold water triggers some involuntary reactions in your body, which is one of the many reasons it can cause a cough.

Why does slushy make my stomach hurt?

Cold drinks restrict blood vessels and can irritate the bowel, possibly causing diarrhea, constipation, or abdominal pain, but that's not true for everyone.

Will slushy melt in the fridge?

Drink the slushy right away for the best flavor and freshness. If you have the leftover puree, you can store it in the fridge for later. However, the mud will be a little harder to drink, but it's still good.

Just keep it in a leak-proof container and pop it in the fridge as soon as possible after you've made it. Slushies can last quite a while in the fridge and still taste great. Many people prefer cold slush to room temperature. So if you have leftovers, don't worry - pop them in the freezer and enjoy them later!

How to make a slushy?

1. Fruit slushy recipe

1.1 Ingredients
  • ½ cup ice cubes
  • ½ cup flavored liquid
  • 1 pinch of table salt
1.2 Instructions
  1. Use a powerful blender and add ice cubes. Per drink, we calculate around half a mug.

  3. Now fill the flavoring liquid of your preference into the blender bowl. That can be juice, syrups, powders or gels to your taste.
  4. Blend another 20 seconds until the preferred consistency.
  5. Fill it into cups or glasses immediately and enjoy it right away.
